- The User Interface is means by which commands are accessed and input using Toolbars, Palettes, Ribbons, Dynamic Input fields and the Command Line. All user interface settings are applied using File > Options.
- Command input can be done through the Command Line console. The Command Lineis the interactive area at the base of the workspace where a command or instruction using either the command name or its alias (abbreviated short cut) is input.
- Commands and spatial information relating to distances and angles can be input into the Dynamic Input Fields.
- A Command Alias is the single command which is input into the Command Line to activate a command.
- The input device, also referred to as the pointing device can be adapted to suit user preferences and may be adjusted at any time during the design session.
- The Status Bar is seated at the lower right edge of the workspace and allows settings such as grid display, ortho mode and snap modes to be activated.
- The ViewCube is a navigational tool at the top right of the workspace which adapts to world and user-defined 3 dimensional views.
- The Compass provides a dynamic rotation of the viewpoint, with the model responding to the position selected on the compass wheel.
- The UCSUser Coordinate System icon is displayed in the lower left corner of the workspace and are used to define orientation of the X-Y-Z axes.
